Dr. Mahon is married to wife Melanie, and has four lovely daughters. He enjoys traveling and playing golf and loves American History.
Dr. Mahon graduated Magna Cum Laude from Briar Cliff College in Sioux City, Iowa. He received his medical degree from the University of Iowa College of Medicine, and completed a Family Practice Residency in Sioux Falls in 1986. New patients are welcome to join his practice

Christopher Ottinger, M.D.

Dr. Ottinger brings to our group a vast array of talents and experiences. As a Board Certified Family Practice physician, Dr. Ottinger sees patients of all ages and views the family as a “unique and special system”.
As the team physician for the Kansas City Comets, T-Bones and Kansas Speedway, Dr. Ottinger maintains a sports medicine background. He has served overseas and is a Major in the U.S. Army Reserves acting as Chief Medical Officer to coordinate field units that care for our injured soldiers.
Dr. Ottinger grew up in the Kansas City area and lived here the majority of his life. He left for undergraduate studies to Omaha, Nebraska, where he graduated Cum Laude and returned for medical school at the University of Kansas. He practiced his intern year in Beaver Falls, PA, and completed his residency training at Kansas University Medical Center in 1992.
Married, and the father of four children, Dr. Ottinger is committed to excellence in care for the entire family., His motto is, “You’re treated as a person - not a patient.” His practice is currently open to new patients.

Kevin Fitzmaurice, M.D.

Dr. Kevin Fitzmaurice has been dedicated to excellence in the practice of Internal Medicine since 1989.
He graduated from Creighton University with a degree in Psychology and completed Medical School at the University of Nebraska. He finished his Internal Medicine training at Presbyterian St. Luke’s Hospital in Denver, Colorado.
Dr. Fitzmaurice brings a special life experience to his patients. As a cancer survivor, “Dr. Fitz” (as he is known to many) has a unique outlook and a renewed passion for life. He takes special interest in Sports Medicine and has completed a number of triathlons as well as earning his black belt in Tae Kwan Do.
Dr. Fitzmaurice and his wife, Karen have two sons, Matt and Adam. His family is central to his life and he spends many weekends serving as a Boy Scout leader, coaching his sons’ sports teams, and boating. His favorite pastime however is working in his yard and garden.

Mike Gruenebaum, M.D.

Dr. Michael Gruenebaum studied at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN where he completed a comprehensive 3-year residency in Internal Medicine. He was board certified in the specialty in 1982. Dr. Gruenebaum also participated in a Preventive Medicine fellowship program at The Mayo Clinic. He can assist you in maintaining your good health as well as caring for any acute or chronic illness you might experience.
My Mayo Clinic training emphasizes a deep respect for my patient as an individual while striving to provide the highest level of heath care.
Dr. Gruenebaum is an avid bicyclist and has participated in numerous tours, peddling over a hundred miles each day. He is married to Kris who is a RN and a Realtor. They have two children . Ben has a degree in Aerospace Engineering and Andy is a professional soccer player. Dr. Gruenebaum is a native Kansas Citian and graduated with distinction from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

Dr. Lila Iyer brings over fifteen years of experience to her Internal Medicine practice. She is a skilled clinician and has a keen sense when it comes to the needs of her patients.
Born in India, Dr. Iyer has combined her Western upbringing to blend and enjoy the best of both cultures. This unique life experience has allowed her to understand and appreciate the individuality to each patient she sees. As a female physician, she has taken a keen interest in caring for women and their special needs.
Dr. Iyer graduated as a “Student of Distinction” from the University of Winnipeg where she was also named to the “Dean’s Honor List”. She earned her Medical Degree from the University of Manitoba where she had the distinction of being the first Asian Indian to be admitted to Medical School. Dr. Iyer completed her Internal Medicine Residency in New Jersey.
Family values are central to both Dr. Iyer and her husband Bala. Together they have two gifted daughters and enjoy spending time with their extended family. Dr. Iyer enjoys reading and is a talented musician.

Her gift of listening provides a forum for patients of all ages to participate in their health care. “Seldom is there only one possible plan of care for a given condition. I prefer to discuss treatment options and encourage the informed patient to choose.” Marsha is a "Certified Diabetes Educator," or C.D.E.
Marsha is married and has a daughter and a son. She enjoys caring for and counseling with our adolescent clients. She is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Queens College, City University of New York and completed her Family Nurse Practitioner training at Pace University, Pleasantville, NY.

The Encompass medical Group-Lenexa is happy to offer the care provided by our full time Pediatric Specialist, Dr. Satish Khurana. He graduated with distinction from Medical School in 1965 and completed a Pediatric Fellowship at the University of Kansas Medical Center. He has had additional training in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology.
Dr. Khurana emphasizes the importance of preventive health care for infants and children, including nutrition and immunization. He believes that all children should have access to health care and strives to provide his patients with timely appointments and scheduling.
Dr. Khurana is married and is the father of two grown daughters, one of whom followed in his footsteps and is also a Pediatrician. Our Pediatric Department is currently open to new patients. |

Paula Nauer, M.D.

Dr. Nauer has been practicing medicine in Johnson County for 25 years. She has viewed the evolution of medicine with fascination over those 25 years and is continually stimulated by the never-ending growth of knowledge and development in the medical field. She appreciates the opportunity to apply this advancing knowledge to her patient’s care.
Dr. Nauer was delivered by a family physician in western Kansas who cared for her and her family from birth throughout life. It is from this perspective that she entered medical school and modeled her approach to patient care.
Dr. Nauer's philosophy of care is one that patients must share in the responsibility of their medical welfare. This is accomplished through patient education and involvement. She feels that patient’s active participation in their care is necessary for the most effective delivery of medical care.
Dr. Nauer graduated from the University of Kansas Medical Center in 1974 and completed her Family Practice Residency at Goppert Family Care Center at Baptist Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri.
When she is not pursuing medical interests, Dr. Nauer enjoys reading, photography, playing piano, traveling and enjoying the outdoors. Her favorite pastimes are scuba diving combined with underwater photography and she has enjoyed combining these with her profession as a certified physician who is trained in underwater medicine. Encompass Medical Group would like to welcome Dr. Nauer as part of our health care team. She is a Family Practice Physician and is open to new patients, including children and adults.
